History
Farragut Lions Club
On February 22, 1974, the Concord Lions held its official charter night. There were twenty new club members present along with a host of guests. The club functioned under the name of the Concord Lions until June 7, 1982. At that time the name was changed to coincide with the newly incorporated Town of Farragut. Since then it has been the Farragut Lions Club.
The Lions Club is the largest international service club with over 1.3 million members in 44,000 clubs. It is a service club of men and women of all ages working together to improve our world.

Our Mission: Communities First
We believe everyone deserves the chance to thrive, and together we can make it happen.
The Farragut Lions Club is a volunteer service club composed of men and women of all ages working together to improve our world. All money raised by the Lions from the public is used for community service projects. No funds are used for administrative costs. The Farragut Lions Club is a participating member of Knox County Lions Charities. As such, donations to the club may be tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations regarding such gifts to charitable organizations.
For over 100 years, Lions Clubs have been living up to Helen Keller’s challenge to take up the cause of the visually impaired by becoming leaders in the “crusade against darkness.” The Lions have made sight conservation their main focus throughout the world.

For more than five decades as the Farragut Lions, our volunteers, partners, and supporters have the time, skills, and resources to tackle urgent community needs—from food insecurity and education gaps to vision assistance. We listen first, act with care, and measure our impact so you can see real change in real lives. When you join us, you become part of a welcoming circle that lifts people up every single day.
Our Service Projects
The Farragut Lions Club supports vision, hunger relief, seniors, and disaster recovery in our community and across Tennessee.
Vision assistance
The club takes part in monthly vision missions through the Smoky Mountains Lions Charity Vision Van program.
We also help children in need through a partnership with Friends of Tennessee Babies with Special Needs. Eye exams and glasses are provided free through our Outreach KidSight program with Tennessee Lions Eye Center and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
The Farragut Lions provide free vision screenings to identify young children with vision defects.
Hunger initiatives
Hunger is a real issue in our area. The Farragut Lions join more than 40 other Lions clubs in East Tennessee in the In As Much food packing and delivery program.
The club also contributes to:
- Good Shepherd of Good Hope Food Pantry
- Second Harvest Food Bank
- Other nutrition efforts
Senior initiatives
The club participates in the CAC Seniors Christmas Program at the Farragut YMCA and supports senior volunteer work at Cades Concord United Methodist.
